The ProjectStory
A tired kitchen gets a stunning makeover. An LX Viatera quartz-topped espresso oak island and Jet Mist honed granite perimeter countertops provide plenty of surface space, and new wood floors in the kitchen mirror those in the rest of the home. White cabinets stacked with glass cabinets fit the tone and style of this Colonial-style home, while Sub-Zero, Miele, and Fisher & Paykel appliances were placed for ease of use for these avid cooks.
A butler's pantry between the kitchen and dining room was remodeled as well. The ample island provides seating, storage, and beverage drawers on the back side, closest to the coffee bar. Bookshelves, pantry space, and multiple accessories inside the cabinetry allow this highly organized cook to find everything in its place.
Beyond the kitchen, the mudroom was retiled and we created a first-floor combined bath and laundry room from two separate small spaces. The design and renovation of a primary suite elevates the footprint: the bathroom flow is improved with a glass-enclosed wet room with a jetted tub, curbless shower, and linear drain, while a closet and cabinetry carved out from under the eaves provide additional storage. Adding a door from the bedroom and a new door to the unfinished attic space provides accessibility and privacy. Finally, we renovated the family bath to include better storage with a new custom vanity.
